Peter’s remarks:
- grade level meetings this week
- we are at mid quarter, and as they say, no news is good news
- call grade level deans if you would like to discuss your student’s progress
- PSAT’s for 10th grade are coming up which are practice tests, but great diagnostic tool
- 11th grade PSAT’s results used for entry into the National Merit contest and are largely practice as well
- 10th and 11th grade retreats approaching
- Back to School Night tomorrow, great opportunity to visit classrooms and teachers
- Three well known theologians visiting school Wednesday through Friday. Questions being prepared by the students are very rich and insightful. The guests will meet with each class during their visit which will culminate in an assembly on Friday.

Art Stetson’s remarks:
- Last year we were one of the few schools that experienced an increase in applications (.8%).
- 9th grade girl applicants was the only area where we experienced a decline in applications. Applications to grades 7, 8, and 10 were up from last year, and 11th grade applications were even with last year.
- Antonio Harrison is going to visit schools in the Pasadena Unified School District in hopes of bringing in a more diverse group of students and Nicole Trevor will assist with more modern marketing ideas via social media on the internet.
- We continue to do a great job of selecting great kids.

A discussion followed.

Tim Ridgway reported on the new website and asked the dads what they would like to see. More than 60% had visited the site and liked what they saw and felt the message was getting out. One suggestion was to include event sign-ups. it was determined that two meeting reminder should go out.

Curtis Okamoto reported on the New Parents Reception. It was well attended with 12 dads assisting at the bar and greeting the new families. Curtis highly recommended the job and said a fun time was had by all.

Craig Hotti brought us up to date on the results of the 2011 BBQ. He said the goal is to bring the families together. It was a highly successful event with at least half of the team leaders volunteering to work the event next year. We took the program to the next level by including various departments, but will increase length next year. Raffle sales were incredible thanks to Tim Ridgway and his team. A couple of new ideas to include next year will be lights on the tables and add Arts to the program.

Jason Schwab congratulated John Johnson on his work for the Fathers Club. Jason gave an overview of the 2010-2011 financials.

Mark Durkin, the new Golf Tournament chair, asked for volunteers and said there will be a kick off meeting in approximately two weeks at Taylors. We will discuss the silent auction, guest speaker, sponsors, and how the event can be improved. He asked that if anyone had ideas to see him after the meeting. It was mention that the John Plumb Fund receives 80% of the proceeds and the Fathers Club 20%.

John Johnson reported that we will have approximately $10, 000 to donate to the school and opened it up for discussion. Some thought the money could be used for scholarships; others thought we should buy something tangible for the Athletic Department. It was decided that by the February meeting there will be more specific ideas for the Club to vote on.

The next meeting will be February 7th, 2012.
