Flintridge Prep John Plumb ’64 Endowment Fund

Annually, the Fathers Club contributes to the John Plumb ’64 Endowment.

john plumb and peter bachmannEstablished in 1990 by the Flintridge Prep Alumni Association, the John Plumb ’64 Endowment provides resources for faculty enrichment. The fund is named in honor of John Plumb ’64, who served as a teacher, coach, and administrator at Flintridge Prep from 1968 to 1990.

Flintridge Prep believes that it is not enough to hire excellent faculty.  A culture of support for faculty enrichment must exist in order to maintain excellence both in the classroom and in all campus programming.  By encouraging Flintridge Prep faculty to continue their professional growth, students receive the highest caliber instruction and innovative coaching.

Speaking to the value of the faculty enrichment program, Ms. Ingrid Herskind, a teacher at Flintridge Prep said:

“As a teacher at Flintridge Prep, I’ve been so pleased with the support the school gives its teachers in terms of faculty development. Over the years I’ve been able to supplement my intellectual growth and curiosity through travel (Africa; Nicaragua; London), educational classes (London School of Economics; Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History at Stanford University) and athletic clinics. Without the support of the school’s generous faculty development program, I would never have been able to follow my dreams and goals.”

Ingrid Herskind teaches AP US History; Post-Colonial Africa; International Relations and is the school’s boys’ Cross Country coach and assistant coach for Swimming and Diving.
